Early Childhood Education Diploma Program
Shape the future — one child at a time.
Be a Registered Early Childhood Educator in as little as 72 weeks.
Launch a meaningful, in-demand career with OIHI's Early Childhood Educator Diploma program. Our flexible hybrid format combines live online classes with in-person ECE lab sessions, giving you hands-on experience in a real early learning environment designed to reflect the classrooms and childcare settings where you'll work.
You'll develop a comprehensive understanding of child development from infancy to school age — grounded in pedagogy, play-based learning, inclusive and responsive practice, behaviour guidance, family engagement and Indigenous perspectives. Your training also includes three supervised practicum placements totalling 540 hours in licensed childcare settings, where you'll work with three different age groups and build the professional connections and experience employers are looking for.
Upon graduation, you'll be eligible to register with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and become a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) — opening doors to leadership roles and higher earning potential. OIHI's caring team offers career fairs, networking opportunities, resume support and interview preparation to help you launch your career with confidence.
You’re not just training for a job; you’re building a future.
Join OIHI’s Early Childhood Education diploma program and experience the guidance, care and career support that will help you reach your academic and career goals.
